EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal add Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson to striker shortlist

Arsenal have added Chelsea centre forward Nicolas Jackson to their summer shortlist, The Transfers Podcast understands.
Mikel Arteta’s side are eager to bring a new striker to the Emirates Stadium this summer, and we have been informed that Jackson is the latest star being monitored by the Gunners’ hierarchy.
The Senegal international has scored 30 goals in 80 appearances for Chelsea since his move from Villarreal in 2023, but he has been heavily linked with a Stamford Bridge departure following the arrival of Liam Delap and the club’s continued pursuit of Hugo Ekitike.

The Transfers Podcast can now confirm that Jackson has joined Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko and Ollie Watkins on Arsenal’s transfer shortlist as they look to finalise a deal for a new striker.
“There's one more name that I've become aware of this week, which may come as a surprise, which is Nicolas Jackson, the striker who's had an interesting time in his two years at Chelsea,” Duncan Castles revealed on the latest episode of The Transfers Podcast.
“Chelsea have always been looking for either adding someone else in that position or replacing him totally. Chelsea say they're not actively looking to sell Jackson in this window, but he's not one of the untouchable figures within their squad.
Arsenal to sign a new striker
Castles added: "The guidance I have on where Arsenal are on this is that this broad range of options is deliberate. They want to ensure that they get a centre-forward for Arteta in this window and don't feel like they did last summer.
"They will do one of these deals. They're telling the representatives of the players involved that what it will come down to is the deal that they believe makes the best sense to the club."

As exclusively revealed by The Transfers Podcast last week, the aforementioned Sesko is asking for a release clause worth 20 per cent more than his transfer fee to be included in his contract if he is to join Arsenal.
He remains a key target for Arteta’s side, however, this is a point of contention in negotiations.
Meanwhile, the Gunners have already made a verbal offer for Gyokeres, and a deal for Watkins can’t be ruled out, despite the fact that he is now 29 years old.
Arsenal are yet to complete their first signing of the summer transfer window, although they have agreed deals for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi and Brentford captain Christian Norgaard.
