Man Utd exec travels to Napoli for Osimhen swap talks

Manchester United have opened talks with Napoli over a sensational swap deal for Victor Osimhen, according to reports in Italy.

Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli claim that United chief Matt Hargreaves was in Naples to discuss a move for Osimhen, with the Italian side said to be demanding €40 million plus Rasmus Hojlund in exchange.

A move for Osimhen may be pursued after United missed out on Liam Delap, with the Ipswich striker rejecting a move to Old Trafford to join Chelsea.

United had been willing to activate Delap’s £30m relegation release clause but the striker has opted to join Chelsea, leaving Ruben Amorim’s side left to pursue more costly options such as Osimhen.

Ten Hag eyes Man Utd raid

Ex-Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag could have a strong hand in the transfer dealings of his former club, with the new Bayer Leverkusen boss reportedly targeting a number of his old players this summer.

Ten Hag was appointed as Xabi Alonso’s replacement at Leverkusen earlier this week and the Dutchman’s first moves have been to outline several targets, some of whom he managed at United.

According to German outlet kicker, Alejandro Garnacho is seen as a ‘top solution’ by Ten Hag to replace Florian Wirtz, who looks on course to join Liverpool.

And, in a perhaps unsurprising move, Ten Hag could also look to reunite with Antony, whom he managed at Ajax and brought to United, where he has no future despite his successful loan at Real Betis this season.

Chelsea set to send Sancho back to Man Utd

United may also suffer a further blow thanks to Chelsea, with the Blues reportedly leaning towards sending Jadon Sancho back to Old Trafford after his loan spell.

Sancho scored in Chelsea’s Europa Conference League final win over Real Betis on Wednesday, which increased optimism that the winger would see his loan turned into a permanent move for £25m.

However, The Guardian report that there are ‘indications’ that Chelsea will pay a £5m penalty and ‘opt against’ taking up their obligation to turn Sancho’s loan into a permanent move.

Diallo wants Garnacho stay

Alejandro Garnacho may be heading for the Man Utd exit door but Amad Diallo has admitted he would like to see his teammate remain with the club next season.

Garnacho was reportedly told, in no uncertain terms, by Amorim to find a new club this summer after his comments criticising the decision to leave him on the bench for the Europa League final loss to Tottenham.

"Alejandro is a really good player and we need good players in the team. I know Garna really well, so I hope to have Garna next season. It is not really a big issue for the team. Everything is good now, I think."
