Liam Delap transfer CONFIRMED as Man Utd move edges closer

Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has confirmed that Liam Delap is likely to leave the club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The England U21 international has been heavily linked with an exit after less than 12 months at Portman Road and he is expected to depart amid significant interest from a host of top Premier League clubs.
Delap, who left Manchester City on a permanent deal to join Ipswich last year, is being heavily pursued by both Chelsea and Manchester United, while FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal have identified him as a possible transfer target too.
Everton and Newcastle United are among several other clubs who are also eager to land the 22-year-old this summer, and Delap has already engaged in talks with a number of teams as he looks to choose his next destination.
The Englishman has scored 12 goals in 36 Premier League appearances for Ipswich so far this season and he will be available for a measly €35 million (£30m) when the summer transfer window opens, due to a relegation release clause included in his Ipswich contract.
Kieran McKenna on Liam Delap
Speaking ahead of Ipswich’s final Premier League game of the campaign, McKenna confirmed that Delap is unlikely to feature for the Tractor Boys in the Championship next year.
“Liam's looking at his options for next year, which I think he's entitled to do, and we support him with that. So, yes, we've given him the permission to do that this week,” the Ipswich boss told reporters.

“It's a very important decision for his future. Of course, there's a lot of interest and rightly so. So that's been part of his week, he's been having some of those conversations.
“It looks, I think more likely than not, that he'll move on this summer. He has interest from pretty much every club in the league. I don't think there's many clubs in the world who wouldn't want to have him. So I think it's more likely than not that he'll move on.”
McKenna continued: “Of course, nothing's sorted, nothing's done or completed or even I think very, very, very close. That process will take its course.
“We’ll, of course, be proud of the part that we've had in terms of Liam's development and his contribution this season.
“If he stays with us, we'll be delighted. If he does move on this summer, then it will be a positive sign for the club, a positive step for the club, to have developed and sold a player at that sort of level. Hopefully it will be a good move for him.”
“There's a lot of interest and rightly so. It's looking more likely he goes rather than stays.”
Man Utd are believed to be the frontrunners in the race for Delap’s signature, although their failure to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final means they will be without European football next season, which could impact the Englishman’s decision.
