Garnacho on the verge of Man Utd exit as transfer meeting scheduled

Alejandro Garnacho is “increasingly likely” to leave Manchester United this summer following his exclusion from their starting XI to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
The Argentina international contributed one goal and four assists en route to Bilbao, but he was named on the Man Utd substitutes bench at the San Mames stadium, with Mason Mount and Amad Diallo favoured behind Rasmus Hojlund.
The 20-year-old was introduced in the 71st minute, but he was unable to help the Red Devils mount a serious comeback and a scrappy first-half goal from Brennan Johnson ultimately sealed Spurs’ first major trophy for over 17 years.
Garnacho was heavily linked with an Old Trafford exit during the January transfer window, amid significant interest from both Chelsea and Napoli, and his representatives are now set to hold talks with Man Utd to discuss a possible summer sale.
That is according to ESPN, who report that Garnacho is “increasingly likely” to depart Old Trafford after a five-year spell at the club.
The Argentine is unhappy with Ruben Amorim’s team selection for the final, and his overall role in the team since the 40-year-old’s appointment last year, while Man Utd are willing to offload him if a suitable offer arrives.
The Red Devils missed out on Champions League income thanks to their defeat to Tottenham and they are facing financial turmoil as a result.
The club are set to sell Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Garnacho in a bid to raise funds, while Kobbie Mainoo may be sacrificed too in order to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Joshua Zirkzee and the aforementioned Hojlund are among the players who may also be sold by Man Utd this summer.

Alejandro Garnacho to leave Man Utd
After his cameo appearance off the bench against Tottenham on Wednesday, Garnacho launched a full-blown rant at his lack of involvement during the game and hinted that a Man Utd exit is certainly on the cards this summer.
“Before the final, I played every match, I helped the team,” Garnacho told the media. “Today, playing 20 minutes…
“Can it influence my future? The match has an impact but the season itself was crap and the situation at the club…
“I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next.”
Amorim was asked about the Argentine’s comments during his post-match press conference and he simply replied: “It’s easy to say that now. Who missed a clear chance in the first half of the semi-final? Garnacho. That’s football.”
