What’s holding up Cunha to Man Utd?

Romano has explained that there are no issues with Matheus Cunha’s transfer to Manchester United. Instead, the delay is due to purely practical reasons.

“Matheus Cunha to Manchester United is a done deal but I keep getting asked where he is in the sense that there’s no medical, deal signed or official statement,” he told his YouTube channel.

“It’s just about waiting for a visa. Meanwhile, at Man Utd they’re waiting for the medical and for the signing. The formal steps will be coordinated with the Brazilian national team. So they’re working on the location and every single step. Cunha will be a Man Utd player. Documents have already started being exchanged with Wolves. He’ll sign a five-year deal and a one-year option.”

Amorim wants Bruno to stay

The attack for Bruno Fernandes from the Saudi Pro League is stepping up, but Romano feels that Ruben Amorim may get his way in keeping the playmaker.

“Al-Hilal want to spend whatever it takes on the club side and also the player’s side to sign Bruno Fernandes. On Friday, Ruben Amorim was saying in public that Bruno wants to stay. And he added that the club can find money in a different way. The message from Amorim is clear: he wants Bruno to stay,” he said.

Al Nassr: Sign Luis Diaz, keep Ronaldo?

Liverpool’s Luis Diaz is involved in a three-way tug-of-war between Liverpool, Al-Nassr and Barcelona. The Saudi club see him as a player who can help keep Ronaldo, who they are still fighting to retain.

“In Saudi, there is the situation of Cristiano Ronaldo. Al-Nassr are pushing for him to sign a new contract and stay at the club. There are more opportunities still on the table, so let’s see what Cristiano will decide to do. Al-Nassr are trying and pushing,” he said on CR7.

“Director Fernando Hierro has confirmed that they are confident and pushing, but they need a plan in place to convince him to stay.

“A top target is Luis Diaz. They believe he could be a perfect option for them. They’re prepared to do something important. In January, Brighton rejected two proposals for Kaoru Mitoma. Now Luis Diaz is their No.1 option. Let’s see what will happen.”

But Barca also want the Colombia star, as Romano explained: “And remember that Luis Diaz is one of four names on Deco’s shortlist at Barcelona. There is Luis Diaz, there is Marcus Rashford and there are two more names. He’s appreciated by Deco but he’s way more expensive than Rashford. So the financial package is going to be important.

“For Al-Nassr, another player they’re following to complete their important summer is David Hancko. He’s a Feyenoord defender. He’s more than appreciated by Al-Nassr. My understanding that in contract terms, it’s almost done. Hancko is ready to say yes to Al-Nassr. The contract is a crazy contract – more than four or five times than he’s earning now. So they’re going very strong on this one. Feyenoord are still waiting for an official bid.”

Kyle Walker: Milan move is off

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker will be on the lookout for a new club in the summer, Romano reports.

“Kyle Walker will not be staying at AC Milan this summer. They had a buy option include in the loan deal. They will not take the buy option. He formally returns to Manchester City,” he says.

“They’re still speaking on Reijnders. It’s getting really close. It’s just about reaching an agreement on the transfer fee but it’s advancing fast.

“On Walker, there are no talks. But he won’t be staying at Manchester City, he won’t be going to the Club World Cup. He’ll be one of the players to watch in the transfer window. “

Pep moves for former rival

Also at Manchester City, manager Pep Guardiola is having a shake up behind the scenes

“Pep Lijnders, part of Jurgen Klopp’s coaching team at Liverpool, will be part of the staff at Manchester City with Pep Guardiola. They’re also considering adding Kolo Toure for the FIFA Club World Cup as part of the staff,” he says.

“There are many changes in the staff of Guardiola this summer and Lijnders will be the first one. It’s a done deal.”

PSG to beat rivals to Mastantuono?

Champions League finalists PSG are closing in on an important move to seal a deal for France Mastantuono from River Plate – a young Argentine that Real Madrid and Manchester United have notably been linked with.

Romano details the state of play: “PSG are working really strongly to bring Franco Mastantuono to Paris. Talks are underway. Luis Campos is one of the sporting directors who works best with top talents around the world. He’s a guarantee when it comes to bringing in top talents and Mastanuono is probably the best talent in Argentina at the moment. A top, top player in terms of potential.

“PSG are working hard to anticipate many other European buyers to sign him. There’s still interest from Spain, Italy and England. PSG are pushing. Let’s see if they can get the final green light. We’re not yet at that stage. It would be another ambitious move for another top talent.”
