Barcelona ROCK Premier League with ‘ADVANCED negotiations’ as Nico Williams U-turn confirmed

Barcelona are active on a number of transfer fronts already this summer and look close to getting their first deal over the line amid a major update on Nico Williams’ situation.
The Catalan side have set two very clear priorities in the early part of the summer: signing Joan Garcia in goal and adding a world-class winger to their ranks.
When it comes to the first part of that target, Barca are well on track. They look good to beat a string of interested Premier League clubs to Espanyol goalkeeper Garcia. Arsenal, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Manchester City have all been linked with a move for the 23-year-old.
Barcelona have taken a substantial lead in the race for the goalkeeper, with Mundo Deportivo claiming that “negotiations are very advanced” for the shot-stopper. There is a five-year deal on the table for Joan Garcia, which only lacks the player’s signature.
Given that he has a release fee of €25 million, should the Espanyol star give the green light to the Camp Nou team, a deal could be wrapped up very quickly.
Barcelona have argued that they can give him a showcase to display his talents to win international recognition, while they are also said to have emphasised the importance of stability in the player’s private life. A switch to the Blaugrana from their neighbours would not change anything in his day-to-day life.

Nico Williams to Barcelona: What’s happening?
Barcelona have made a complete U-turn on Nico Williams since 12 months ago, with Mundo Deportivo reporting that the Athletic star is “not in the plans” of Hansi Flick’s side.
Instead, Luis Diaz has emerged as the priority on the left. Barca believe Liverpool will need money to fund a deal for Florian Wirtz, therefore opening the door to the Colombia winger to depart.
Nico Williams, meanwhile, has been dropped by Barca because he was unwilling to take the risk by signing for them last summer when they were in financial peril.
If Barcelona look good to beat a bunch of Premier League suitors to Joan Garcia, the door is very much open for Nico to move to England, with Arsenal and potentially Chelsea monitoring the situation.
