EXCLUSIVE: Man City need ‘very crazy’ bid to sign Reijnders

Manchester City will need to launch a blockbuster bid to sign Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, Pep Guardiola’s side have been told.
Reijnders has emerged as the Etihad side’s leading candidate to arrive in the heart of the midfield during what promises to be a busy summer for Guardiola & Co.
But Milan will not be easily parted with the Netherlands international star, as Aurelio Capaldi explained on the Transfers Podcast in association with FootballTransfers.
“They’ll try to keep him because Reijnders is one of the few smiles for AC Milan during the last season,” Capaldi, who is a correspondent at Italian broadcasting giant Rai, explained.
“It’s been a very, very complicated season. There have been a lot of defeats, disappointments and angry fans. Reijnders and Pulisic were their best players. So I think Max Allegri will try to keep him of course.
“It’s up to the club to have the last word. If they get a very crazy offer, it’s very possible that he might go. But AC Milan will try to keep him.”
It has been claimed that Man City have already had a €60 million bid knocked back by the Rossoneri for the 26-year-old, who has a contract that runs until 2030 and an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €55.6m.
Will Reijnders be a good signing for Man City? The expert opinion
Capaldi believes Reijnders’ experience at San Siro can help him thrive in Manchester should a deal be completed.
He explained: “When he signed for AC Milan, there were some sceptical people who were wondering whether he could handle the pressure to be a regular at a club like that.
“He proved them wrong. He has shown consistency. He’s played well with clear ideals, and he hasn’t gone down with the rest of the team. He’s kept solid. So I think he can do well.”
