Chelsea Transfer News Today: Blues 'pushing' for €100m star after SHOCK u-turn

All the latest Chelsea transfer news in one place, including updates on Jadon Sancho, Hugo Ekitike and Liam Delap.
Chelsea close in on Delap
Chelsea have reached a total agreement to sign Liam Delap this summer, with the Ipswich striker turning down interest from the likes of Manchester United in the process.
The Blues are now set to formally activate the £30 million release clause in Delap’s contract, with personal terms not expected to be an issue.

Delap is understood to have picked Chelsea due to the club’s qualification for the Champions League next season, as well as his relationship with Enzo Maresca, whom he was coached by as a youth prospect at Manchester City.
Ipswich are now hoping to target Chelsea’s Marc Guiu on loan as a replacement for Delap, although the 19-year-old has yet to be convinced of a move to the Championship outfit.
Ekitike still wanted by Chelsea despite Delap transfer
Chelsea’s deal for Delap is not believed to have affected their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike, according to Sky Sport Germany.
With Delap having agreed a £30m transfer to Stamford Bridge, the need for an additional striker has softened despite Chelsea holding a strong interest in Ekitike.
However, Florian Plettenburg has claimed that Chelsea are still ‘pushing’ for Ekitike even with their move for Delap.
Frankfurt would demand a fee close to €100m for Ekitike, who is also wanted by Liverpool.
Blues open Sancho talks
Chelsea are understood to have held fresh talks with Jadon Sancho’s agent about new contract terms to keep the winger at the club permanently.
The Blues had initially indicated that they would pay the £5m penalty to send Sancho back to Manchester United this summer but they appear to have opened their stance after the 25-year-old netted in the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea would like Sancho to stay if they can agree on a contract which suits their wage structure, with the club unable to offer terms close to the ones he is on at United.
Chelsea have an ‘obligation’ to sign Sancho for £25m but they will pay the fee to send Sancho back to Old Trafford if favourable terms cannot be reached.
Santos: Everyone knows my love for Chelsea
Andrey Santos has reiterated his desire to play for Chelsea despite speculation that the youngster could be sold this summer after his impressive loan spell at Strasbourg.
Santos is set to return to Stamford Bridge in the coming days to feature in next month’s Club World Cup, with a view for Enzo Maresca to get a closer look at the midfielder.
“The only conversation I had was that I would play in the Club World Cup for Chelsea and after that we’ll see what happens,' Santos told Mail Sport. “Everyone knows about my love, my desire to play for Chelsea.
“I think Maresca was very sincere with me, and I liked that sincerity. Also, when you look someone in the eye, when you're sincere, you build trust with the player. So I accepted that and went to Strasbourg to get minutes. And now, God willing, we'll see how it goes at the Club World Cup. I hope everything goes well.”
