FootballTransfers understands that Andrea Berta is a huge admirer of the Sweden international and we exclusively revealed that fresh talks with Gyokeres’ representatives are scheduled to take place after the Portuguese cup final in late May.

Manchester United are also interested in signing Gyokeres this summer, amid Ruben Amorim’s push to bring a new striker to Old Trafford, but we have been informed that Arsenal are leading the race for his signature.

With Gyokeres set to leave Sporting, Rui Borges’ side are already scouring the globe for a potential replacement and they are interested in bringing Ronaldo back to the club, according to a bombshell report from Fichajes.

Sporting recognise that Ronaldo would significantly boost their media presence and Ronaldo is reportedly open to the move in order to stay in top condition ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

What has Cristiano Ronaldo said?

Although Fichajes claim that Ronaldo could rejoin Sporting this summer, the Portugal legend has previously admitted that he will not return to the club during his playing career.

In February, he told Canal 11: “I love watching Sporting games, it’s my team! But no, never considered a return there as makes no sense.

“My career started in Portugal… and it’s not because I don’t like Portuguese football or there’s no quality, no.

“I just think everything has a time and a limit, and so I never thought about Sporting return.”

Ronaldo spent six years at Sporting before joining Man Utd for €19 million in 2003 and he racked up a total of 31 first-team appearances for the Portuguese giants.
