Former Arsenal forward Kevin Campbell has told the Gunners to sign Ivan Toney and Pedro Neto for the price it would cost to land Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen, 24, has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Premier League for several months and rumours of a move to England have intensified following a TikTok scandal at Napoli.

The Nigeria international still has over 18 months left on his contract in Naples, but Arsenal and Chelsea have both expressed their desire to sign him.

However, the two Premier League clubs are also chasing wantaway Brentford star Ivan Toney, who could be on the move in January.

The Englishman is currently serving a football ban after pleading guilty to over 200 betting breaches and is not allowed to play competitively until 2024.

He may never play for Brentford again, in fact, with Arsenal and Chelsea both looking to sign Toney during the winter window.

Reports suggest that Arsenal are leading the race for the 27-year-old and Campbell thinks that Mikel Arteta’s side should go all-in for Toney and Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto.

What has been said?

“You can get Ivan Toney and [Pedro] Neto for virtually the money you are going to spend on Osimhen,” Campbell told Curtis Shaw TV.

“Osimhen. Quality player that he is. Top-class. He has never played in the Premier League. Will he just automatically just transition to the Premier League? We don’t know,” he continued.

“Two players that we know can come in and hit the ground running are Toney and Neto. £60 million. You take Toney all day long. £80 million. If someone says pay that and you win the title, then you pay it, don’t you?

“You get Neto as well. You solve the problem of the [Bukayo] Saka dilemma. And [Gabriel] Martinelli because Neto can play on that side as well.

“But Toney is the key. He offers that big and strong striker, who can cause Man City problems. We have seen him cause Liverpool problems.”
