West Ham could revisit moves for Manchester United’s Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, FootballTransfers is told.

The pair were the subject of failed offers by the London side earlier this summer, but there is an anticipation that both might be looked at again in the final days of the transfer window.

West Ham are looking at a possible loan move for Maguire while an offer could be made for McTominay.

As revealed, Erik ten Hag still wants both players to exit and has been continuing to push for a move for them. Man Utd would rather make any deal permanent and would only ship the duo on if they were to receive money in return that could go back into bringing fresh faces in.

Ten Hag gets green light for left-backs

United have stepped up their chase for a new left-back after making a formal bid for Barcelona’s Marcos Alonso and being given the go-ahead to pursue other options.

Ten Hag has focused his attention on the left-side of defence after seeing Luke Shaw pick up an injury that could rule him out for at least six weeks, while backup option Tyrell Malacia is also sidelined for a notable period.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano told The United Stand that approaches for Marc Cucurella of Chelsea and Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon have been approved by the club.

Alonso, meanwhile, is reported by Spanish outlet SPORT to have been the subject of a loan bid by United, although the player has previously been cited as having ‘no intention’ of leaving Barca this summer.

Manchester United have also asked about the availability of Brentford defender Rico Henry, who would provide an upgrade to Luke Shaw in Erik ten Hag’s side.

Shaw faces a lengthy period on the sidelines after sustaining an injury while a knee problem is set to keep Tyrell Malacia out for a prolonged time too.

Having previously prioritised a defensive midfielder and then a centre-back, this new weakness in the Man Utd squad has prompted the Red Devils to reassess their plans coming into the final week of the transfer window.

And Brentford left-back Henry is a player they have asked after, according to the Daily Mail.

Ex-United midfielder confirms new arrival at Old Trafford

Fred completed a move to Fenerbahce earlier this summer and the Brazilian has now confirmed one of his teammates from his new club will make the move to United imminently.

Altay Bayindir is set to complete a move from the Turkish giants to United, having spent the past few days in Manchester conducting a medical ahead of a £4m move to replace Dean Henderson, who has agreed to join Crystal Palace for an initial fee of £15m.

United are still hopeful of bringing in a midfielder before the end of the month and Ryan Gravenberch is still one of Ten Hag's top choices, with the Bayern Munich man having admitted he 'doesn't know' where his future lies.

However, Bayern are reportedly willing to let Gravenberch move to Old Trafford if they can secure a replacement, and they are hopeful of conducting a swap loan move with United for Scott McTominay, according to Bild.

United have not been willing to sell McTominay this summer but Ten Hag prefers a player in Gravenberch's mould and could sanction a loan swap, which could also allow him to move for Sofyan Amrabat.

Martial 'offered to Real Madrid'

Manchester United have offered Anthony Martial to Real Madrid following Vinicius Junior's injury, according to Spanish media.

That is at least according to Defensa Central (via Fichajes), which claims that United tried to capitalise on the injury by offering Anthony Martial as a replacement to Real Madrid on an initial loan deal with an 'enticing' purchase option.

The fact that it doesn't include an obligation to buy makes the deal more attractive, according to Spanish media, while the Red Devils are still desperately trying to offload their deadwood in hopes of raising enough funds before the end of the window to allow them to sign some of Erik ten Hag's priority targets.
