Man Utd are set to step up their bid to sign star striker Rasmus Hojlund after having a cut-price offer rejected by Atalanta.

Danish star Hojlund - seen by many as 'the new Erling Haaland', is valued at around £60m by his Serie A side. United are long-term admirers of the 20-year-old, but according to the tabloid they cannot afford that kind of fee.

United have already agreed a £55m fee to acquire Chelsea and England midfielder Mason Mount, but they also need a striker and a goalkeeper. As well as staying with Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.

The Red Devils reportedly put forward an opening bid of £30m, which was never likely to be accepted. Now they are set to return with an improved offer of £40m.

Any hope Erik ten Hag has of getting his man could be impacted by the fact two Serie A giants - Napoli and Juventus - are also reported to be very interested in Hojlund.

Both of those clubs are said to have the young Dane as their top target to replace likely departures Victor Osimhen (Napoli) and Dusan Vlahovic (Juve).

Man Utd ponder Sancho swap to REKINDLE Kane interest

Man Utd could rekindle their pursuit of Harry Kane by using Jadon Sancho as a makeweight in a deal for the Tottenham striker.

United reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Kane last month, with Spurs’ valuation of the England captain said to be too high in the view of the 13-time Premier League champions.

But things change quickly and dramatically in the crazy world that is the transfer market – and Kane may yet make his way to Old Trafford this summer, amid continued interest from Bayern Munich.

According to the Express, engineering some kind of swap deal involving Sancho is a potential option for Man Utd.

A straight swap would be out of the question - Spurs are believed to value Kane at £100m, while it has been reported that United would entertain offers of around £45m for Sancho – but a player-plus-cash deal might just work.

It’s not the first time this summer that Tottenham have been linked with a move for Sancho – who could be offloaded after two underwhelming seasons at Old Trafford since signing from Borussia Dortmund for £73m (€85m).

Dortmund meanwhile reportedly want Sancho back - on loan - for next season. But United have already vetoed that bid.

Mourinho wants Mason Greenwood at Roma - report

Former Man Utd manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in taking striker Mason Greenwood to Roma on loan.

The 21-year-old star has not played for the club since January 2022 after being charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault.

Those charges were dropped in February, but United are reportedly still deciding what to do with a player who is contracted with them through to 2025.

Now, according to The Sun, Mourinho has reached out to Greenwood to offer him advice, and a potential lifeline in Serie A.

A source told the tabloid: "Jose rang Mason’s dad and also spoke with Mason. He told him the best way out of his current situation is to start playing football - and that eventually all the hassle will fade away."

De Gea offered Cristiano Ronaldo reunion in Saudi Arabia

David de Gea is apparently set to be offered a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo by joining Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.

Ronaldo has been playing for Al Nassr since signing a two-year deal in December after his Old Trafford contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Now it appears de Gea is on Al Nassr's shopping list after his contract ran out on Friday following a 12-year stint in the Premier League.

Man Utd goalkeeper target Bijlow NOT FOR SALE say Feyenoord

With de Gea on the way out, and Inter Milan's Andre Onana reportedly too expensive, United are scrambling around trying to find a new goalkeeper.

It appeared this weekend that they were turning their attentions to Feyenoord shot stopper Justin Bijlow, but the Eredivisie side say categorically that he is not for sale.

Dutch outlet Voetbal International says Bijlow would love to move to Old Trafford, but will act professionally if his club say he must stay. They would instead love to extend his contract, which runs to 2025.

Mount set for Man Utd medical TODAY - Fabrizio Romano

The Mason Mount saga is FINALLY set to end this week when the Chelsea and England midfielder wraps up his move to Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old Mount will undergo a medical today (Monday) ahead of completing his transfer - per Fabrizio Romano. The fee of course is £55m plus £5m in add-ons.

Mount will sign a five-year contract through to the summer of 2028, with the option for a further year to 2029.
