Chelsea told their dream signing has a new price tag - and it is staggering

Roma are set to double their asking price for Chelsea target Manu Kone following his impressive start to the season, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Chelsea were linked with Kone towards the end of the summer transfer window as they looked to find a midfield replacement for Enzo Fernandez.

However, Roma had no appetite to sell one of their prized assets, who was loosely valued at €60million (£51.5m) by various publications.

And now Chelsea have learned that figure is set to increase to €100m (£85.9m) given how well Kone is performing for club and country.

The 25-year-old scored twice in Roma’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Inter Milan last Saturday - a result which kept them at the top of Serie A.

And Kone also caught the eye in France’s 1-0 win over Turkey in the Nations League on Friday, in what was Zinedine Zidane’s first match in charge.

Kone will look to continue his fine form when France take on Belgium (away), Italy (home) and Belgium again (home) over the next eight days.

Chelsea also linked with Scott & Camara ahead of January

Chelsea meanwhile are being linked with several midfielders ahead of the transfer window reopening for clubs in England on Friday, 1 January 2027.

The Blues remain keen to sign Bournemouth star Alex Scott after seeing a €74.4m (£64m) bid turned down in the summer, according to BBC Sport.

Chelsea continue to be linked with Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara after missing out on signing him on deadline day in September.

Camara completed a medical with the west London club ahead of his proposed move, only for Monaco to abort the €55m (£47.1m) deal at the last minute.

Chelsea are also being credited with an interest in Arsenal star Martin Zubimendi, Everton midfielder James Garner and Sander Berge of Fulham.

Despite the failure to sign a replacement midfielder, Chelsea still went ahead with the sale of Fernandez to Manchester City for a joint-British record fee of €145m (£125m).

Chelsea return to action when they entertain Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday, 10 October following the conclusion of the international break.
