Interviews, disputes, isolation: How Ronaldo left his previous clubs

Cristiano Ronaldo is most likely in the final weeks of his Manchester United stint and his interview with Piers Morgan hasn’t helped matters.
Ronaldo has been wanting to leave Manchester United for a while and matters took a turn for the worse with his latest interview.
Ronaldo spoke with displeasure about the club, the facilities and his relations with manager Erik ten Hag, which has raised further doubts about his future at the club.

This isn’t the first time he’s wanted to leave a club acrimoniously – he has a history of it, even with Manchester United during his first stint in England.

After becoming a star with Manchester United, he wanted to leave in 2008 and even confirmed claims that he felt he was being “treated like a slave” when the club didn’t let him leave.
Ronaldo was linked to Real Madrid at the time and the club blocked a move away and kept him on for a further season, before being allowed to leave.

Ronaldo then spent nine years at Real Madrid and left on rather peaceful terms – although some reports suggested there was a contract dispute, but nothing concrete came off it.
Then, when he wanted to leave Juventus after three years there, there were reports that he was an isolated figure towards the end of his time and wanted to force a move.

That led to a late transfer away from the club and put him in the current situation, where he has had a far from fruitful time at Manchester United and is on the verge of an exit.
The interview with Morgan is the latest act of poor behaviour after refusing to come on as a substitute against Tottenham, leaving the stadium early after a friendly and a general feeling that the squad don’t get on with him.
