Victor Osimhen transfer agreement reached: €75m deal 'very close'
Galatasaray have reportedly reached a transfer agreement with Napoli for the summer signing of Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a permanent move back to Istanbul for weeks, after a successful loan spell at the club last season, and a breakthrough in negotiations has finally been made.
Galatasaray have been locked in advanced talks with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis for several days and an agreement has now been reached, according to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
He posted on X: “Galatasaray and Napoli have reached an agreement on bank guarantees and payment plans. Of the €75 million transfer fee, €40m will be paid up-front.
“The remaining amount will be paid in installments. Galatasaray is very close to signing Victor Osimhen!”
This news has been confirmed by football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, who has revealed that Galatasaray will pay the €35m of add-on clauses by the end of 2026. They will also be unable to sell Osimhen to an Italian club for the next two years.
Galatasaray to sign Victor Osimhen
Galatasaray were willing to go to FIFA in order to resolve their ongoing dispute with Napoli, but it appears as though an agreement in principle has been reached, and Osimhen is now on the verge of completing a permanent return to Istanbul.
The Nigeria superstar scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances on loan at Galatasaray last season, and he helped the club win a third consecutive Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.
Osimhen has been linked with the likes of Al-Hilal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Juventus and Manchester United over the past few months, however he quickly set his sights on rejoining Galatasaray on a permanent deal this summer, and a €75m transfer is now close to being formally completed.
