Viktor Gyokeres sent BLUNT message as Arsenal transfer looms
Sporting CP fans have sent a clear message to Viktor Gyokeres ahead of his impending €73.5 million move to Arsenal.
The Sweden international has enjoyed a spectacular two-year stint in Lisbon, however he is on the verge of joining Arsenal after going on strike to force through a summer transfer.
Mikel Arteta’s side are yet to reach a total agreement with Sporting, amid a dispute over bonus payments, but they are edging closer to signing Gyokeres for an initial fee of €63.5m, with personal terms already finalised.
The 27-year-old has refused to attend pre-season training at Sporting, in an attempt to force his current employers to accept a sale, and his standing amongst the club’s supporters has taken a significant hit as a result of his actions this summer.
Sporting suffered a 2-0 loss to Celtic during their first pre-season fixture on Wednesday, and several fans took the opportunity to send a message to Gyokeres via two banners.

As per A Bola (via The Daily Mail), the first banner read: “I don't cry for those who leave, I'm happy for those who stay.”
While a second displayed the message: “No one is above the club's interests, no matter who they are. Focused on the Tri.”
Gyokeres has scored a mesmerising tally of 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting CP, following his arrival from Coventry City in 2023, but he has now lost the support of the club’s fanbase and he looks set to depart Lisbon on bad terms.
Arsenal have already completed the signings of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard so far this summer, while Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera are also close to arriving at the Emirates Stadium from Chelsea and Valencia, respectively.
