Man Utd plot Chelsea swap deal offer that fans will HATE
Manchester United are reportedly interested in including Alejandro Garnacho in a swap deal bid for Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson.
Ruben Amorim’s side are desperate to sign a new centre forward before the start of the 2025-26 campaign, following the woes of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee last season, and Jackson has recently emerged as a top target.
The Senegal international has been Chelsea’s first-choice striker since his arrival from Villarreal in 2023, but he has fallen behind Joao Pedro and Liam Delap in the pecking order this summer.
Chelsea are open to retaining Jackson in order to increase competition for places next term, although they will consider a sale if a suitable offer is submitted before the end of the summer transfer window.
As exclusively reported by FootballTransfers back in May, and now confirmed by multiple outlets, Man Utd have identified Jackson as a possible target amid their pursuit of a new striker.
The Red Devils failed to sign the aforementioned Delap earlier this summer, while Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen are set to join Arsenal and Galatasaray respectively. As a result, Jackson has now been earmarked as a possible option.
Man Utd want Nicolas Jackson swap deal
The i Paper has revealed that Man Utd are interested in including Garnacho in a swap deal bid for Jackson.
Although the two transfers would likely be separate for financial purposes, a swap agreement of sorts could be reached before the end of the summer.
Chelsea proposed a swap deal involving Garnacho and Christopher Nkunku back in January, but this was swiftly rejected by Man Utd as they weren’t keen on adding the Frenchman to their squad. Their stance on Jackson is slightly different and a lucrative swap is reportedly on the cards.
Jackson has scored 30 goals in 70 Chelsea appearances, but he has been widely slammed by fans on social media during his time in England, with many believing he isn’t good enough to be a starting striker at a top Premier League club.
Garnacho, on the other hand, is expected to leave Man Utd this summer following a public bust-up with Amorim after the Europa League final. He is one of five players in a ‘bomb squad’ at Old Trafford, and the Red Devils are desperate to sell him before the 2025-26 campaign kicks off.
