Danny Rohl confirms Rangers transfer plan
Rangers boss Danny Rohl has confirmed that his side will look to dip into the transfer market during the upcoming January window.
The Ibrox giants were held to a 2-2 draw against Dundee United on Wednesday night, with Nedim Bajrami rescuing a point with a 98th minute penalty, and they are now fourth in the Scottish Premiership table.
Rohl has overseen an improvement since arriving as the club’s permanent replacement for Russell Martin, however they are now nine points behind league leaders Hearts and face an uphill battle to challenge for the 2025-26 title.
The Scottish giants signed 14 new players over the summer, including five on loan, but Rohl has admitted that he is hoping to purchase additional stars in January if they fit his style of play.
Rangers transfer message
“We have to improve the players we have here, and then we have to look at what we can bring on the market,” Rohl told reporters after the draw to Dundee United. “I've said this many times - it's not about how many players, it's about which players and if we find the right ones to bring something different to the group in both directions, then we are in a good way.
“This is what we have to prepare with the club. I have good people around me who will help me. We do it together and if we make this step by step, then we can develop something special here. I can feel it.”
Rohl added: “I think the key is the balance. After a win, you will ask me if we are back in the race, and after a draw or a defeat, you have the feeling that the world goes under. It's about the journey. The last results in the league are not what we want.
“Our performance was better than the result, really positive. If I see the reaction after three days of work, it was in the right direction.
"I know we want to do it quicker. Everyone wants to be straight in that position overnight but that will come.”
