Barcelona star REFUSES to leave in January
Barcelona winger Roony Bardghji has refused to leave the club during the upcoming January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.
The 20-year-old moved to Camp Nou from Copenhagen for a measly fee of €2.5 million over the summer, but he has only racked up 341 minutes of action across all competitions so far this season.
Blaugrana head coach Hansi Flick has, perhaps unsurprisingly, favoured Lamine Yamal, Marcus Rashford and Raphinha out wide this term and Bardghji has therefore been forced to play a rotation role since his arrival at the club.
His lack of game time has alerted several suitors from across Europe, with Premier League clubs Crystal Palace, Everton, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland all inquiring about a possible January deal, as per Fichajes.
However, the Spanish publication claim that Bardghji has rejected the chance to leave Barcelona next month as he is determined to succeed at the club.
The Sweden international has refused to sanction a Camp Nou exit and it’s reported that Barcelona are happy to keep him, despite growing interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
Barcelona want to sell Ter Stegen
While Bardghji is now expected to remain at Barcelona in January, the Spanish giants are eager to offload long-serving goalkeeper Marc Andre ter Stegen before the winter transfer window slams shut.
The Germany international has been usurped by summer signing Joan Garcia in the pecking order this season and Barcelona have reportedly told him to find a new club next month as he looks to improve his game time ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Aston Villa have been linked with a surprise move for the 33-year-old, although it remains to be seen if Unai Emery’s side will pursue a transfer for Ter Stegen while Emiliano Martinez is still at the club.
