Barcelona are already planning for the January transfer window after their Champions League exit, with a view to strengthening their squad.

They have identified two positions as priorities and will be looking to move early to get the job done and get some players in for the second half of the campaign.

Barcelona eyeing January moves

Firstly, Barcelona are looking to improve at right-back and have identified several targets, with the most prominent being Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot.

The Portuguese has impressed in Erik ten Hag’s team so far this season, but is out of contract at the end of the campaign with clubs lining up a move.

It will be difficult though as Manchester United have the option to extend his deal and are likely to activate it to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.

The other player they have been looking at is Torino’s Wilfried Singo, who is also at the end of his deal come the end of the season.

The second position Barcelona are looking to improve in is midfield, and there are at least four players they have been linked to for this role.

Wolves’ Ruben Neves has been the most prominent link, while others such as Ajax’s Edson Alvarez is a possible target as well.

It’s unclear if they are looking for an immediate deal or an agreement that would see a player move at the end of his contract, as they have also been linked to the Chelsea duo of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante.

Regardless, these are two areas Barcelona want to strengthen in and a move to improve both is incredibly likely as they look to get over their Champions League disappointment.
