Real Madrid make €150m Vinicius Jr sale decision
Real Madrid will reportedly sell Vinicius Junior next year if they receive an offer in excess of €150 million.
The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a Bernabeu exit in recent weeks and he has informed the club he will not sign a new contract unless his relationship with Los Blancos head coach Xabi Alonso improves.
Vinicius has 18 months remaining on his current deal at the club and Real Madrid are currently unwilling to match his request to become the highest-paid player in the squad, as exclusively reported by The Transfers Podcast back in March.
Several clubs in the Saudi Pro League have expressed their interest in acquiring Vinicius’ signature over the past few months and Real Madrid have now placed a €150m asking price on his head, as per Spanish publication El Nacional.
It’s reported that a sale is being heavily considered by the Real Madrid hierarchy, although a deal is likely to only take place in the summer, rather than during the upcoming January transfer window.
In addition to Saudi Arabia, Vinicius also has suitors in the Premier League, with Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United all linked with a blockbuster deal over the past few weeks.
Real Madrid told to sell Vinicius Jr
“Real Madrid always has to be above any player, any footballing character, because it is the biggest club in the world. If Vinicius closes himself to the renewal, Real Madrid have to do everything possible to transfer him,” Mijatovic told Cadena SER (via Football Espana).
“You cannot, under any circumstances, allow a player or their representatives to manage you.
“If Vinicius is now asking for [Kylian] Mbappe’s contract or [Lionel] Messi’s, it is because he does not want to renew. It’s clear, we’re not children. And if he wants to finish the contract, that’s okay, Real Madrid always have to be on top.”
