The agent of Anel Ahmedhodzic has revealed that there is currently “enormous interest” in his client, with Chelsea linked with a transfer for the centre-back in the summer.

FootballTransfers previously wrote of how the player’s father had accused the agent, former player Markus Rosenberg, of previously sabotaging a move away from Malmo.

That move to was to Chelsea, but it didn’t materialise.

  • The Blues do retain an interest in Ahmedhodzic, but according to reports emerging from his home nation of Bosnia, they now face competition from Milan, Ajax, and PSV.

Rosenberg expects an exit from Malmo for his young client sooner rather than later, though didn’t mention Chelsea or anyone else by name as a destination.

“The interest is enormous. Almost daily it is written about Anel and it is no secret that there are always new clubs calling him,” Rosenborg said, as reported by SportSport.ba.

“It doesn’t necessarily have to be clubs, but agents or people who deal with transfers or are intermediaries of some teams.

“Anel has it all. Of course, he can still learn a lot, but if you look at the important qualities – he is young, tall, built, has technique and a good overview. He’s got it all.

However, Rosenberg did insist that Ahmedhodzic would only be joining a club where first-team football is guaranteed in order to aid his development.

“Anel has to go to a club where he can flourish completely, somewhere he won’t end up on the bench,” he added.

“All the clubs have been following Anel for some time and so they know why they want to bring him in.”

It is believed the 21-year-old will cost around £7m for any potential suitors, which is what Chelsea had agreed in the summer.

Frank Lampard signed Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, and Malang Sarr as defensive reinforcements in the last window.
