Vinicius Junior and Real Madrid have reached something of a stalemate over his renewal.

A report in Eldesmarque states that the two parties are yet to reach an agreement over a deal, with his current contract up in 2024.

It means, of course, that should no compromise be found, Vinicius Jr would be able to leave the side on a free transfer next year.

It is thought that Florentino Perez is doing ‘everything possible’ to secure the player to fresh terms and that he hopes a conclusion can be wrapped up soon.

The Brazil international does not justify the money he’s asking for, it is claimed, with the lack of goals coming when playing away from the Santiago Bernabeu being problematic.

The attacker hasn't scored a goal away from home in La Liga since August when he netted against Espanyol.

Bizarrely, it is claimed that many players at Real have complained about his behaviour in the dressing room.

The reports say that the controversies and fights with rivals and the opposing fans are given more focus than his input on the pitch.

Vinicius Jr has been disgustingly bombarded with racist abuse while on the pitch, having been wrongly accused of provocation by opposing fans and players over his dancing celebrations.

The Mbappe factor

The aforementioned report also states that Perez may look to sacrifice Vinicius Jr as a means to getting Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe has enjoyed another spellbinding campaign in France but the club’s failure to succeed in Europe is much of the frustration of supporters, with the club enduring something of a crisis.

Even the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar have been earmarked to leave as the Ligue 1 champions look to undergo an overhaul.
