Out of contract in 2026: The best free agents available on a Bosman
There are now less than three months to go until clubs will be able to begin negotiating pre contracts for European players whose deals expire in the summer of 2026.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jonathan David and Kevin De Bruyne were three big names who ran down their contracts and joined new clubs on a Bosman transfer in the summer of 2025.
And in 2026 there are some more huge names who are due to become free agents.
In the Premier League, Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate and Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi are available for nothing. Guehi is almost certain to leave on a Bosman, with Liverpool favourites but half of Europe interested in the England international. Harry Maguire is in talks to extend his contract.
In La Liga, Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski and Real Madrid's Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba and Dani Carvajal have their contracts run out. Alaba will almost certainly leave Madrid.
In Serie A, Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic, Milan's Mike Maignan and Paulo Dybala are among the big names whose contracts expire. Maignan looks increasingly likely to leave on a free, with Chelsea interested. Roma symbol Lorenzo Pellegrini is also set to leave Roma, as is Juventus' American midfielder Weston McKennie.
Bayern Munich's Dayot Upamecano, Serge Gnabry and Leon Goretzka are on expiring contracts in the Bundesliga, as is Germany legend Manuel Neuer. Upamecano and Gnabry will renew contract talks this month with Bayern. Goretzka's future is more at risk.
Sergej Milinković-Savić was set to be available on a free in 2026 but signed a new deal until 2028 in October.
Below, FootballTransfers runs through the best players who are set to be available on a free transfer in 2026.
