Jacque Talbot is a highly respected football journalist who specialises in sourcing and delivering exclusive first-source transfer stories for FootballTransfers as the site’s correspondent.

He started his career writing weekly columns for Sandbach United of the North West Counties Division in 2016, before progressing to covering clubs including Altrincham FC and FC United of Manchester in the National League. He also had a successful spell reporting on League football in Greater Manchester for the local press

After a period working for major digital football brands TeamTalk and Planet Football as a writer and sub-editor, Jacque worked on national sports desks for Reach PLC's national publications, including the Express, Mirror, and Daily Star.

During his seven years in the industry, Talbot has reported on sports for a string of the UK’s biggest media outlets, featuring in esteemed publications including The Times and The Guardian. He has a strong background in writing colour pieces and human interest stories, while his feature writing earned him a regular column for award-winning digital brand Football365, something which garnered nationwide attention.

Soon Jacque’s connections with clubs in England and across Europe began to net him exclusive content relating to player contracts and potential moves, and he now is the focal point of FootballTransfers’ coverage. Despite having less than six months of experience in transfer news at the time, Talbot delivered major global exclusives throughout the summer of 2022 on some of the biggest deals of that window. These included Darwin Nunez's move to Liverpool, Djed Spence's switch to Tottenham and Renan Lodi's shock transfer to Nottingham Forest. Significant scoops like those have seen his online following on Twitter and Facebook grow rapidly along with his reputation.

Away from writing, Jacque has on-camera experience and is regularly found on podcasts and various channels, talking transfer news and rumours. He has also hosted guests on his own YouTube channel, with the interviews and clips attracting thousands of views.
