Man Utd Transfer News Today: Double Chelsea raid approved as Carrick future clarified
All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Cole Palmer, Andrey Santos and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Exclusive: Waddle approves of Palmer move
Former England international Chris Waddle has exclusively shared his thoughts on Cole Palmer with FootballTransfers.
The Chelsea superstar has been linked with a potential move to Man Utd, as he is said to be frustrated with his situation at Stamford Bridge and keen to return to the Northwest. "I like Cole Palmer and Man Utd would be a great fit," Waddle said.
"I think he's a Man Utd fan, so I'm sure he'd like to go back to Manchester. It looks like a great fit for him, but you've got Bruno Fernandes and you've got Matheus Cunha, so will he get stuck in a position where you think he's not getting the best out of him?"
Conditions for Santos deal revealed
Chelsea could be forced to greenlight a move for Andrey Santos if they face new issues over Premier League and UEFA financial regulations, according to CaughtOffside.
Man Utd are keeping tabs on the Brazil international and remain interested after briefly exploring a deal for him during discussions with Chelsea over Alejandro Garnacho last summer.
At the time, the Stamford Bridge club were unwilling to sell, but with them likely to continue their extravagant transfer business this summer, there could be an opportunity to snap up Santos.
Man Utd interested in Felix?
Man Utd could make a shock move for Al-Nassr attacker Joao Felix, Fichajes claims.
After flopping at Chelsea, the Portugal international has been nothing short of sensational in Saudi Arabia, prompting interest from European suitors, including the Red Devils.
A move to Old Trafford could only become a realistic possibility should Bruno Fernandes decide to leave the club in the summer, with Felix one of the players earmarked to replace the captain.
Lewis-Skelly eyed
Man Utd are among the clubs keeping tabs on the situation of Myles Lewis-Skelly at Arsenal, as per TEAMtalk.
The Hale End graduate has slipped below Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori in the left-back pecking order and is struggling for minutes this season. This is unlikely to change next season, so Lewis-Skelly is looking to get out.
Arsenal will not stand in his way if a reasonable offer comes in. The homegrown would represent pure profit for the Gunners, which could be crucial after cutting it close with UEFA's spending rules this season.
Big boost for Carrick
Man Utd have yet to hold talks with any potential coaching candidates, which is a big boost for interim Michael Carrick, according to Sky Sports.
INEOS chiefs are in no rush to sort out the coaching situation and do not want to distract the side from the current objective of achieving Champions League football.
Carrick will be in the reckoning for the job if results continue to be positive. Should Man Utd nevertheless decide to replace him, they would seek to appoint a big name with top-level experience.
