Could Bayern Munich beat Real Madrid and Man Utd to Camavinga signing?
Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga will undoubtedly be one of the most sought after players in Europe during the summer transfer window.
Not only has the young midfielder dazzled Europe’s biggest clubs with his performances in Ligue 1 over the past two seasons, but according to the Athletic the young star is now unlikely to sign a contract extension to his current deal.
That means Rennes will likely have to sell Camavinga or risk losing him for free next summer, when his contract expires in 2022.
According to reports in England and Spain, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United are all chasing Camavinga’s signature this summer.
However, according to Sport Bild, German giants Bayern Munich may soon join that race and could potentially beat all others to signing the young French midfielder in a few months time.
Could Bayern sign Camavinga this summer?
Although Bayern aren’t usually in the business of rivalling other super clubs in a bidding war for exciting talents, the German giants may make an exception for Camavinga.
Not only have Bayern enjoyed plenty of success in recent seasons with signings from the French top-flight, but Camavinga would also fill a notable hole in Hansi Flick’s squad ahead of next season.
Even though Bayern have two outstanding central midfielders in Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, the Bavarian giants never properly replaced Thiago Alcantara and could certainly use a playmaker like Camavinga in the team next season.

Indeed, not only are Bayern quite light when it comes to strength in depth in the middle of the pitch but are also likely to lose some of their back-up midfielders this summer. Javi Martinez will leave at the end of the season when his contract expires and it seems likely that Marc Roca and Tiago Dantas may be sold this summer too.
As such, Bayern will almost certainly look to prioritise the central midfield position in the coming transfer window and while the proposed €50 million price tag for Camavinga may seem rather steep, the German giants could perhaps feel it is justified if the player can immediately fix a number of problems in the squad.
