Chelsea have made contact with Paris Saint-Germain over one of their star players who is ready to leave the French side this summer in a big money transfer.

The Blues are expected to continue being active during the transfer windows, although the scope of their spending will depend largely on if they can qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Among Chelsea’s top priorities this summer is expected to be a striker, with Liam Delap potentially set to depart Stamford Bridge after just one season following a disappointing debut campaign.

And Chelsea’s search for a striker could lead them to Goncalo Ramos, who TEAMtalk report is ready to leave PSG after failing to become a starter in Luis Enrique’s team since joining the club in 2023.

Ramos has only made ten league starts this season, scoring five times, and there is said to be a ‘growing acceptance’ that a long-term future with PSG looks unlikely if he wants first team football.

Teams across Europe are now understood to have registered an interest in Ramos but a move to the Premier League is emerging as a ‘realistic option’, with Chelsea and Newcastle among the sides believed to have positioned themselves towards a deal this summer.

Ramos ready for new challenge after struggling for PSG minutes

Despite limited gametime during his time in France, Ramos has had a reasonable goalscoring record in Ligue 1, scoring 26 times off just 38 starts in his three seasons with PSG.

The 24-year-old initially joined PSG on loan from Benfica with a mandatory option that made the deal permanent for €65 million, however Ramos has often found himself behind stars such as Kylian Mbappe and, more recently, Ousmane Dembele.

With Ramos still pushing to be Portugal’s starting striker at the 2026 World Cup, the 24-year-old is described as being ready for a fresh challenge after receiving interest from the likes of Milan, Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig and Dortmund.

However, Newcastle and Chelsea have both held a long-term admiration for Ramos, having considered signing him before he moved to PSG and revisiting their interest last summer.

Manchester United have also previously explored a deal for Ramos, while Tottenham have been informed of his availability if they avoid relegation from the Premier League and talks will be held in the coming weeks over which destination may prove most feasible for Ramos to find a new home.
