Liverpool are looking to improve their midfield in the upcoming transfer windows and are targeting two players for their side in the upcoming transfer windows.

The Reds have been depleted in midfield for a while now with the squad troubled with injuries, inconsistency and an ageing group of players.

That has been reflected in their form in this campaign, as they have struggled in the Premier League and fans have been asking for new signings.

Now, there are two players they are targeting: Matheus Nunes, who only moved to Wolves last summer, and long-term target Jude Bellingham.

Liverpool targeting duo

Liverpool targeted Nunes last summer but were beaten to the signing by Wolves, who were quicker to move for him from Sporting, his former club.

The Portuguese has impressed in his short time in the Premier League and has provided further indication that he is the right man to improve this Liverpool side.

Nunes has been an integral part of this Wolves team and having signed him for a fee of around €45 million and will want to recoup that or get more if they do sell him on in the summer.

Liverpool’s main midfield target has been Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund, who is also of interest to many others including Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Bellingham definitely won’t come in cheap and will have plenty of suitors – with a fee of €120 million expected to tempt Borussia Dortmund into a sale of the Englishman.

Liverpool will have to move fast if they are to get him before anyone else as there is plenty of competition for him, with Real Madrid reportedly the frontrunners.

It also needs to be factored in that they are in a difficult place in the Premier League and can’t guarantee Champions League football next season, which Bellingham would want.

For now, it’s clear Liverpool are targeting midfielders to improve their squad and improve in a position that is severely lacking in their team.
