One England superfan has sold his house in order to fund his 2026 World Cup adventure with The Three Lions.

Andy Milne, a retired teacher, went viral during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar when he was spotted in the crowd holding a replica of the famous Jules Rimet trophy high into the air.

Since then, he has become a mini-celebrity and has earned the title of being 'England's number one fan'.

The 2026 World Cup will, remarkably, be the tenth that he has attended overall as he has also followed the exploits of The Lionesses around the world.

He's had to make some sacrifices for the next tournament, though, as he has put his £350,000 second home in Cheshire up for sale in order to fund his travel, accommodation and match tickets for England games in the United States.

He has tickets for every game, including England's opener against Croatia in Dallas.

"I definitely want to see the whole tournament," he said. "I am going to the US on June 3 and will be there for seven weeks. So it will cost quite a lot of money.

"I always try to do things cheaply if I can. I will couch surf where possible; I am lucky to have friends in Mexico, Dallas, and Vancouver. Travel costs are expensive; I bought international flights early because you can change them even if departure times change by 10 minutes."

He has produced a memoir, "That World Cup Guy", which is due for release in May. It tells the story of his travels watching England at the World Cup, including sleeping rough in Spain in 1982.

"It is going on the market because I'm selling it to go to the World Cup," he said of his second home, which he keeps as a rental property while living in Thailand.

"The last tournament in Qatar was a present to myself, I had been saving for years. We have had a second home for 27 years so it felt like the right time to cash in."

How much will England fans pay if they go all the way to the final?

Over the eight potential matches, the lowest price an England fan can hope to pay is £164 for either the Panama or Ghana fixtures, which take place at the MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey and the Gillette Stadium in Boston, respectively.

If the Three Lions reach the World Cup final, the least they will pay is £3,120 and the most is around £6,471.

These prices are available to members of England Supporters Travel Club only.
