It seems Lionel Messi's wife Antonella Roccuzzo is finally getting to grips with life in Miami.

Messi and Roccuzzo first met as children in their hometown of Rosario, Argentina, through Antonela's cousin, Lucas Scaglia, who was one of Messi's closest childhood friends. The Inter Miami star has said he was fond of Antonela from a young age, but the pair were separated when he moved to Barcelona at 13 to pursue his football career.

After several years apart, they reconnected in the mid-2000s and their relationship gradually developed. Although they initially kept their romance private, Messi confirmed they were together in 2009. They married in 2017 and have three sons together.

In 2023, the family moved to an English-speaking country the first time in the United States as Messi signed a lucrative deal with Inter Miami.

Neither Antonella nor Lionel spoke fluent English at the time so have been practicing since and recent footage shows the former is more advanced than her husband.

Messi’s wife spoke entirely in English during her latest campaign for a luxury beauty brand.

In a previous interview with Haute Living, Antonella detailed what she loves most about living in Miami.

"What I love the most about Miami is the climate, the people, and the landscape — all this makes you feel like you’re living in perpetual summer," she said.

"The biggest surprise for us was the warm welcome we received when we arrived. We knew it would be special, but it exceeded all our expectations."

The kids have lived in Barcelona, then Paris and now in Miami. Roccuzzo was previously worried about her boys adjusting to live in America, but those concerns didn't last long.

"It has actually been very easy, and we’re all happy about it," she said when asked about adapting to their new home.

"Our main concern was that the kids might not like it or adjust well, but from day one, they adapted very well."
