Chelsea and Manchester United have both reportedly been offered the chance to sign Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly before the end of the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old played a bit-part role at the Emirates Stadium last season and despite establishing himself as a midfielder in Mikel Arteta’s preferred starting XI during the final few weeks of the campaign, he is one of several stars who have been heavily linked with a summer exit.

Lewis-Skelly only started five Premier League matches last term and given he is now seen as a midfielder by the Arsenal hierarchy, his long-term future at the club is in doubt following the €87.5 million signing of Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes.

The England star, who was omitted from Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad due to his lack of game time in 2025-26, has been on Chelsea’s radar for several months and the Blues have now been offered the opportunity to sign him.

That is according to Football.London, who report that Arsenal would be willing to sell Lewis-Skelly to the Stamford Bridge outfit if they receive a suitable bid. It’s reported that Man Utd have also been told that a summer deal is possible amid their pursuit of a new midfielder and a new left-back.

Fellow Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi has also been linked with a shock move to Chelsea in recent weeks, with Xabi Alonso keen to reunite with his compatriot following a stint together at Real Sociedad B, but FootballTransfers has been told that Arteta has no interest in selling the Spain international.

Lewis-Skelly’s future in north London, however, appears to be uncertain and it remains to be seen if Chelsea, or Man Utd, will take up their option to sign him this summer.

Myles Lewis-Skelly to join Chelsea?

Chelsea have already signed Valentin Barco and Jordan Henderson to bolster their midfield unit so far this summer, however they are continuing to monitor the market following the sale of Andrey Santos to Man Utd.

Concerns over Romeo Lavia’s fitness, Dario Essugo’s readiness for regular action and Enzo Fernandez’s transfer future means that Chelsea are willing to sign a new midfielder if the opportunity presents itself and it’s understood that Bournemouth’s Alex Scott remains on their radar.

However, Marco Rose’s side are reluctant to sanction a sale and Chelsea could therefore turn their attention towards a possible deal for Lewis-Skelly, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €41.9 million.

The England defender has made 75 first-team appearances for Arsenal, scoring once.
