Garnacho talks confirmed

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that AS Roma have enquired about Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentina international is facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge after an underwhelming first season, with Chelsea believed to be willing to listen to offers. Roma have a concrete interest in the 21-year-old as they seek to upgrade their frontline ahead of their long-awaited return to the Champions League.

However, Romano has revealed that a move to the Italian capital currently looks unlikely. Chelsea have made it clear that they will only consider permanent offers as things stand, while Roma would prefer an initial loan.

Arsenal have shortlisted RB Leipzig defender Lutsharel Geertruida, CaughtOffside claims.

The Dutch right-back has returned to the Bundesliga side following his season-long loan at Sunderland. The Black Cats decided against making his stay permanent, and he is also deemed surplus to requirements at Leipzig.

In January, Liverpool briefly explored a move. The report claims that the Reds remain interested, but they are now joined by Arsenal, who are looking to add depth on the right side of their defence amid Ben White's uncertain future.

Chelsea step up Costa chase

Chelsea have accelerated their pursuit of Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, as per TSF.

The Blues have been "courting" the Portugal No.1 "for some time" and are ready to make a move for him this summer. Porto do not want to lose him, which means that Chelsea would likely have to trigger his €60 million release clause.

His impressive World Cup performances have enhanced his reputation and attracted more unnamed suitors. No offers have been made for him, but he is at the top of Chelsea's goalkeeper shortlist.

Besiktas finalising Trossard deal

Besiktas are applying the finishing touches to Leandro Trossard's arrival from Arsenal, Gokmen Ozcan understands.

The Turkish giants have already agreed a €20m financial package with Arsenal, who are keen to open up space on the left wing for a new signing. Personal terms between Trossard and Besiktas are close to being agreed.

Trossard's representative has been in Istanbul this week to complete the contract agreement, while the player was at the World Cup with Belgium. Neither Galatasaray nor Fenerbahce have tried to enter the race despite reports.

Ederson deal off

Man Utd have pulled the plug on their deal to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils agreed a €45m package for the Brazil international last month but delayed the deal to carry out thorough medical examinations following a meniscus issue.

Clearly, Man Utd feel that there may be long-term damage and are not comfortable paying €45m for him, especially as he only has a year left on his contract. As a result, the deal is now considered off.
