Rashford deal explored

Chelsea are open to loaning Man Utd winger Marcus Rashford, according to Simon Phillips.

The England star will formally return to Man Utd after Barcelona decided against exercising the €30 million purchase option in his loan deal. The Blaugrana will let the clause expire after failing to renegotiate the deal with Man Utd.

While the Catalans could still look to sign Rashford later in the window, the club's decision means that the winger may have to seek out other opportunities. Chelsea would take him on board, it is claimed, but only on a loan deal.

Van Hecke plot thickens

Chelsea have received another damaging update on Tottenham's pursuit of Jan Paul van Hecke.

The Netherlands international is a key target for the Blues, but Spurs are currently in the box seat for his signing due to Roberto de Zerbi, who coached Van Hecke at Brighton. Discussions over a deal are ongoing, with the Seagulls demanding around €81m.

Chelsea could be left completely frozen out of the picture following the news that Brighton are now exploring a deal for Spurs defender Luka Vuskovic, who is keen to join. This could set up a mutually beneficial transaction between Tottenham and Brighton, which would see Van Hecke move to North London and Vuskovic head in the other direction.

Cucurella on future

Marc Cucurella insists that he is "very happy" at Chelsea despite constant speculation linking him with a return to Spain.

The defender is reportedly keen to leave the Stamford Bridge outfit following their failure to qualify for Europe, with Atletico Madrid keen on doing a deal for the Spain international. Barcelona and Real Madrid have also shown a tentative interest.

However, speaking to COPE, Cucurella insisted that he won't discuss transfer rumours during the World Cup. "Right now, I don’t want to talk about that," he insisted.

"I’m very happy at Chelsea, and I have not wanted to know anything about [transfers] for a while. I want to enjoy this [World Cup] because it could be my first and last time here, I want to enjoy this and that’s it."
