Transfer Rumours: Arsenal surge into Alvarez lead as Liverpool decision sparks panic
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours from 29 March, including the latest updates on Julian Alvarez, Michael Olise and Yan Diomande.
Arsenal's big Alvarez boost
Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has a "crazy" €500 million release clause in his contract, which is a boon for Arsenal, Fichajes claims.
With no club willing to trigger such a monumental clause, the race to sign Alvarez will be won on the open market. Atleti, if they agree to let the striker go, will sell to the highest bidder.
Given that Barcelona's financial situation continues to give club bosses headaches, Arsenal look well placed to win the race for Alvarez if they decide to get serious about their interest in the Argentina international.
Olise interest sparks Bayern concerns
Bayern Munich players are "concerned" about Liverpool's well-documented interest in Michael Olise, according to club insider Christian Falk.
Though Bayern insist that Olise is not for sale at any price, a potential exit is being discussed in the dressing room, and the club's players would be far from impressed if the France international were to depart.
"Yes, Bayern are aware of this," Falk said. "We even know that it’s already a topic in the Bayern players’ locker room. They obviously don’t want to lose Olise. They want to build something big here. And the players are concerned about it too."
Man City want Tonali and Anderson
Man City could look to sign both Newcastle star Sandro Tonali and Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson this summer, as per TEAMtalk.
The Cityzens want to overhaul their engine room after this season and have earmarked the duo as perfect reinforcements. Instead of choosing between one or the other, the Etihad club could look to sign both.
The report claims that City are ready to sell Rodri to Real Madrid, while Bernardo Silva is widely expected to depart on a free transfer. As a result, sporting director Hugo Viana is looking to make two midfield signings.
Liverpool, Man Utd battle for Diomande
The future of RB Leipzig wonderkid Yan Diomande remains completely open, Sky Germany reports.
While the Ivorian's suitors are numerous, Leipzig would ideally like to keep hold of him for another season. Failing that, they will look to extract at least €100m from his sale.
Liverpool regard him as one of their "top three" targets to replace Mohamed Salah, while Man Utd also see him as a priority reinforcement this summer. The 19-year-old is keen on a Premier League move, but he is not actively agitating to leave Leipzig.
Chelsea's Pavlovic interest confirmed
Chelsea are monitoring AC Milan centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic, Corriere dello Sport has confirmed.
The Blues are interested in the Serbia international and were previously said to be ready to bid as much as €40m to secure his services this summer. However, the Italian outlet reports that Milan do not want to lose Pavlovic.
The physical defender has made great strides in his second season at the San Siro and is expected to play a big part in the club's return to the Champions League next term.
