Transfer Rumours: Chelsea forced to make €90m decision as Arsenal receive Saliba update
The January transfer window is not yet open, however every club in world football is already planning their mid-season business and high-profile updates are being shared daily.
Below, FootballTransfers runs through some of the biggest rumours of the day.
Morgan Rogers to Chelsea?
Chelsea are leading the race to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers in January but they will have to splash out over €90 million to sign the England international.
CaughtOffside reports that Rogers has interest from a number of top Premier League clubs, however it is Chelsea who are favourites to land the attacking midfielder in 2026.
Villa will demand a transfer fee in excess of €90m, though, to even consider selling their star man.
William Saliba to Real Madrid update
Arsenal can finally relax as Real Madrid have definitively dropped all interest in star defender William Saliba.
That is according to respected European football journalist Andy Brassell, who reports that Madrid will no longer pursue Saliba.
Saliba has reportedly been Los Blancos’ dream defensive target for a number of years, but the France superstar recently signed a new five-year contract with Arsenal and that has now scared Xabi Alonso’s side off.
Chelsea target Samu Aghehowa
Chelsea are ready to pay over €100 million for long-term target Samu Aghehowa, according to a bombshell report in Spain.
The 21-year-old was on the verge of joining Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in 2024, however, the final details of the deal failed to be agreed with the player and the transfer collapsed
Chelsea have kept tabs on Aghehowa’s development since his failed move to Stamford Bridge and they are now ready to submit an offer in excess of €100m next summer, according to Fichajes.
