'DOOMED!' - Gyokeres splits with girlfriend to complete Arsenal move
Viktor Gyokeres’ transfer to Arsenal is set to be made official this weekend, and the Sporting CP striker is so serious about his move to the Premier League, he is ready to split with girlfriend Ines Aguiar over the switch.
Gyokeres is set to complete a deal worth a total of €80 million to move to the North London side, ending a saga that has stretched back months.
Now that he is finally going to be an Arsenal player, the Sweden international forward wants absolutely no distractions – even if that means breaking up with his partner.
The Portuguese media have been fascinated by his relationship with actress Aguiar, which became public last season.
There has been no official breakup between the pair, yet after Aguiar was spotted on holiday alone, it was claimed that the couple had already gone their separate ways.
Flash claims that Aguiar is fighting to restore the relationship, but faces an uphill task to do so.
“The Swedish striker spent his holidays alone, making it clear that on his list of priorities, there is room for almost everything except love, which seems doomed,” it reports.
“The romance has cooled and there will be no great future for a relationship that worked when Gyokeres’ reality was Sporting CP and Portugal.”
Gyokeres, it has been suggested, never wanted to commit to a strong relationship with Aguiar as he rarely posted images with her on his social channels – something he was happy to do with his previous partner Amanda Nilden.
Gyokeres ready to get down to business
Now the Swede is ready to take another big step in his life, with the move to Arsenal set to be completed imminently.
Manager Mikel Arteta will be pleased with the player’s focus on football, and the Gunners boss is ready to rush his new recruit into action.
A hot date has been arranged for Thursday as he prepares to make his Arsenal debut against Tottenham Hotspur.
