Bryan Mbeumo wants Man Utd transfer - David Ornstein

Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo is keen on a move to Manchester United, who will attempt to sign him even if Bruno Fernandes turns down Al-Hilal.
The Red Devils are currently eagerly awaiting the final decision of their club captain on whether he will move to Saudi Arabia or stay at Old Trafford. Al-Hilal are willing to pay whatever it takes to sign Fernandes, but Man Utd would prefer to keep him.
However, the ball is fully in the Portugal international's court. Should he accept Al-Hilal's offer, Man Utd are unlikely to stand in his way. Over the past 24 hours, Fernandes' Saudi suitors have grown in confidence that he will make the move to the Middle East.
However, as of Monday evening, the 30-year-old still has not made a final decision. Intriguingly, according to Ben Jacobs, Man Utd will look to add another attacking midfielder even if Fernandes turns down Al-Hilal.
The player earmarked as a 'leading target' is Bryan Mbeumo, whose versatility and excellent performances in recent years have seen him become an attractive commodity in the market.
Man Utd to pursue Mbeumo
Jacobs reports that Man Utd will attempt to sign Mbeumo regardless of Fernandes' final decision. Although the Cameroon international would come in to play behind a striker, he can also feature out wide and as a centre-forward.
Man Utd have already confirmed the signing of Matheus Cunha for a whopping €74 million, with the Brazilian expected to occupy one of the two No.10 positions in Ruben Amorim's side.

Mbeumo would require a similar outlay, according to Jacobs. Brentford are said to be demanding a fee in excess of €60m amid interest also from Arsenal and Newcastle.
What works in Man Utd's favour is that Mbeumo, like Cunha, does not view the club's lack of European football as a dealbreaker. Indeed, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the 25-year-old has decided that he wants to make the move.
Ornstein reports that Man Utd are now fully expected to open talks for Mbeumo. Brentford are unlikely to stand in his way as he only has a year left to run on his contract.
