Liverpool make Guehi move

It could be all change in Arne Slot’s Liverpool defence this summer, with a new centre-back set to arrive at Anfield. Romano has confirmed on his YouTube channel that Marc Guehi is the player they want.

“Liverpool are working on defenders and one of the players they wanted was Dean Huijsen, but he went to Real Madrid,” he said. “Now I can confirm the reports coming from England that they want Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

“What’s going on? This player is wanted by several clubs. Newcastle have wanted him since last summer, Chelsea have been scouting him for a long time. Guehi is on the shopping list at Liverpool. He’s appreciated by Richard Hughes. He’s not the only one but for sure they appreciate Guehi.”

Guehi would be a direct replacement for Jarell Quansah in the Liverpool squad, with the England international heading for the Bundesliga.

“There is interest from Bayer Leverkusen which in the last 24 hours has become a concrete negotiation. Talks are ongoing and are in very advanced stages: £30m plus bonus,” Romano says.

“It’s OK from the player, personal terms are agreed. The centre-back was also on the list of Newcastle United, but Bayer Leverkusen got very good money for Jeremie Frimpong and Wirtz and will invest it in Quansah. The here we go is coming soon.”

Palace line up Guehi replacement

Crystal Palace are braced to lose Guehi to Anfield, with the Selhurst Park side targeting Sporting CP’s Ousmane Diomande – a player who has been on the radar of the Premier League’s top clubs for many months now.

Romano says: “Keep an eye on Palace because they’re always very quiet on the market in a positive way. There’s strong interest in signing Ousmane Diomande from Sporting. There’s a negotiation underway. The agreement with the player is done. Now they’re working club-to-club. He could be the next Crystal Palace signing.”

Barcelona target wonderkid

Barcelona’s focus on young talent is set to take them beyond La Masia, with the Blaugrana seeking to sign a 19-year-old sensation from Copenhagen.

“Roony Bardghji is an interesting opportunity for several clubs,” Romano explains.

“Barcelona have concrete interest in him. He’s a completely separate story to Nico Williams. Roony Bardghji is a player they like. They have made contact with Copenhagen to understand the conditions of the deal to sign him now. There’s a conversation ongoing.

“A bid was sent by Porto, and there was interest from Marseille but they decided to leave the conversation and focus on different targets.”

Nico Williams: Arsenal and Chelsea give up on Spain star

Barcelona appear to have locked down the future of Nico Williams, with Romano revealing that the Premier League clubs have effectively thrown in the towel.

Romano reports: “Arsenal and Chelsea believe it’s almost impossible to sign him. In Germany, Bayern will wait until they have the final confirmation that Nico Williams will go to Barcelona. They appreciated Rafael Leao but there’s been no bid, just an internal conversation.

“Nico has agreed personal terms with Barcelona. My understanding is that Barca and Nico are already exchanging the documents to check all the details they agreed on personal terms. It’s a six-year deal at €6-7m per season. Everything’s ready on the player’s side. He said yes last Friday. But Barca need to have the green light from Athletic Club. They’re trying to find a solution to find an agreement with the club or if they will have to trigger the release clause.

“It's a technical and financial case for Barca. How and when they can make it happen. Let’s follow the steps of the story.”
