Chelsea's insulting Maignan valuation
Chelsea only value AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan at €10 million due to his expiring contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.
This is a significant gap to the Rossoneri's valuation of around €30m, and is complicating what could have otherwise been a quick deal.
If Chelsea can't reach a breakthrough by next Monday, they will reportedly walk away from the talks.
Chelsea rushing to complete deals
Chelsea are aiming to get their business done by next Tuesday, which is when the special Club World Cup window closes.
In addition to Maignan, they are also in talks with Borussia Dortmund for Jamie Gittens and Eintracht Frankfurt for Hugo Ekitike.
Chelsea want to have these players available for the Club World Cup, but there is no guarantee that deals will be struck in time.
Nanasi used as an Ekitike sweetener?
Chelsea don't want to match Frankfurt's €100m asking price for Ekitike, but they have been handed an opportunity to potentially sweeten the deal.
Frankfurt are credited with an interest in Sweden international Sebastian Nanasi, who is coming off a successful first season at Strasbourg.
It is thought that they could sacrifice their BlueCo affiliate's star to drive down the price of Ekitike.
Sterling loan cost Chelsea €35m
Raheem Sterling's unsuccessful loan was hugely detrimental for Chelsea as his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) dropped by more than €35m.
Arsenal have decided to send the England international back and have no plans to sign him permanently.
Chelsea are now stuck with a player on a huge wage and with drastically reduced stocks - and he still has two years to run on his deal.
Yildiz set for new contract
Juventus youngster Kenan Yildiz is in line for a new contract, which would already be his fourth since joining in 2022.
The deal is being billed as an 'anti-Premier League contract' as it is meant to fend off interest from clubs like Chelsea.
The Blues were frequently linked with the Turkish wonderkid in the spring, but Juventus have no intention of selling.
