Liam Delap urged to REJECT Man Utd amid Chelsea interest

Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap has been urged to reject a move to Manchester United this summer, despite increasing speculation of an Old Trafford switch.
The England U21 international has enjoyed an eye-catching debut campaign at Portman Road and he is set to leave Kieran McKenna’s side this summer due to a relegation clause included in his current deal with the club.
Delap has scored 12 goals in 35 Premier League appearances for Ipswich so far this season and his form has attracted the interest of virtually every top English club.
FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal have shortlisted him as a potential alternative to Viktor Gyokeres, while we have been told that Chelsea are eager to bring him to Stamford Bridge amid their pursuit of a new striker capable of challenging Nicolas Jackson for a starting berth.
In addition, Man Utd are also interested in signing Delap, and reports indicate that Ruben Amorim’s side have emerged as the frontrunners in the race for his signature in recent weeks.
However, former Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Delap to snub the Red Devils in favour of a surprise move to West Ham United.
What has Liam Delap been told?
Speaking to talkSPORT, Agbonlahor admitted: “If I was him, mate, I wouldn’t be going there [Man Utd] at the moment.
“I wouldn’t stay at Ipswich, I’d go to a West Ham, go and prove yourself at a West Ham [as the] next step.

“They need a striker. [Evan] Ferguson will go back to Brighton, he’s only on loan, [and it] hasn’t worked out. They’re desperate for a striker.”
Although West Ham have been touted as a suitable destination for Delap, the England youngster is expected to receive offers from several teams playing in Europe and this may sway his decision given his desire to be included in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
