Garnacho in Chelsea’s sights as ‘next transfer priority’ revealed

Chelsea are set for another busy summer in the transfer market, with Enzo Maresca’s side lining up a new striker to help fire them further up the Premier League table. But after they have signed a new No.9, who will they target?
According to BBC Sport, the Blues have clearly outlined their plans for the transfer window and will seek to sign a right-footed left winger.
Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho falls into this category, with the Argentina international tipped as one of the players who could become the Blues’ “next priority” once a deal for a forward is over the line.
Garnacho is one of three players outlined for the task, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens and Aston Villa’s Mogan Rogers also on the shortlist.
Chelsea were previously linked with a move for Garnacho during the January transfer window but were unable to agree a fee with Man Utd at that point. The South American is a player widely tipped to leave in the summer because of his value in the Old Trafford side’s battle to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). As such, the prospect of a move to the Blues is very much alive.
Rogers is more of a long shot. The report points out that this deal may only be possible if Aston Villa are forced into a sale by their own PSR issues.
The Mudryk question remains
Chelsea have not made a final decision over the future of Jadon Sancho, who is on loan from Man Utd, but a trickier variable for them to control is that of Mykhailo Mudryk, who is provisionally banned following a failed drugs test.
The Ukraine international could face a suspension of up to four years but remains in a state of limbo for the moment.
Sancho, meanwhile, appears unlikely to remain at Chelsea following a disappointing campaign. The Blues could either pay a €6m fee to send him back to Man Utd or sign him in a deal worth approximately €25-30m then sell him on at a higher price.
