Arsenal submit Viktor Gyokeres contract offer

Arsenal have reportedly offered Viktor Gyokeres a five-year contract as they intensify their pursuit of the Sporting CP striker ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Sweden international has been identified as Arsenal’s priority centre forward target and FootballTransfers exclusively revealed that fresh talks were scheduled to take place after the Portuguese cup final on Sunday.
Nicolo Schira has now reported that Gyokeres has been offered a contract until 2030 by Arsenal, with the Gunners locked in negotiations with his representatives as they look to finalise an agreement for his signature.
Sporting CP will allow Gyokeres to depart if they receive a bid worth €65 million and the 26-year-old is widely expected to leave the club after a hugely successful two-year spell in Lisbon.
The former Coventry City striker has scored 97 goals in 102 appearances since his arrival at Sporting in 2023, and Arsenal are pushing to bring him to the Emirates Stadium as they look to provide Mikel Arteta with a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
What has Viktor Gyokeres said?
After Sporting’s 3-1 win over Benfica in the Taca de Portugal final on Sunday, Gyokeres was asked whether he will leave the club this summer.
“I don’t know anything, I tried to focus on the last few games, if something is true, we’ll see,” he told reporters.

Last week, he also admitted to SIC Noticias: “We'll see. It's the future. Football is like that, you never know what's going to happen.
“As we saw this season, you never know what's going to happen. And it's the same thing now. We'll see what the future holds.”
Gyokeres has three years remaining on his current contract at Sporting, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at a career high of €75m.
