Five players who could leave Chelsea this summer

Chelsea are in the midst of another mega summer of transfer business, but the Blues may be forced to sell several players in order to continue signing their desired targets.

Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have played a risky game in regards to Financial Fair Play and while they are under no immediate threat of sanctions, they need to be watchful after already striking several deals this summer.

Below, FootballTransfers runs through five players who could leave Chelsea during this transfer window.

Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher was Chelsea’s most-used player in the Premier League last season, but the Blues may sell the Englishman in order to raise funds.

The fact Gallagher came through the Cobham academy means he would generate ‘pure profit’ if he is sold, which is an appealing prospect to the Chelsea owners.

Atletico Madrid are the most interested side in the England international, but they have some reservations about his potential cost.

Trevoh Chalobah

Trevoh Chalobah is another player who qualifies as ‘pure profit’ and he is expected to leave Chelsea this summer.

The Englishman rejected a move to Nottingham Forest in 2023, while Bayern Munich were also interested, and the suggestions are that he will eventually depart at some point this summer.

However, he did emerge as a regular starter after returning from injury last season, which could mean his Chelsea career extends into 2025.

Armando Broja

Armando Broja was loaned to Fulham in January in a bid to drive up his price tag ahead of the summer window. However, things didn't go as planned at all, with Rodrigo Muniz finding his goalscoring boots the minute Broja arrived at Craven Cottage.

Broja ultimately barely featured and while his valuation will now be low, it’s unlikely that Chelsea will keep him, with interest in his services still high despite his struggles in recent years.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

The world's most expensive goalkeeper, Chelsea will be lucky if they manage to recoup even half of their original €80 million outlay on Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Spaniard has failed to establish himself as a reliable number one at Stamford Bridge and he even lost his place to perennial Real Madrid number two Andriy Lunin while on loan last season.

The player has confirmed that he has no intention of returning to Chelsea and he will be sold this summer. Kepa wants to stay in Spain, but a Saudi move may be more likely given Chelsea's desire to raise some funds from his sale.

Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku’s Chelsea career has looked over for the best part of two years, but he remains contracted to the Blues.

The Belgium international spent last term on loan at AS Roma. While they are unlikely to purchase him permanently, a summer exit remains a possibility, with the Saudi Pro League as one potential option.

Additionally, new Napoli boss Antonio Conte wants to reunite with the 31-year-old, but the club's pursuit of Lukaku hinges on them selling Victor Osimhen first. AC Milan have also been linked.
