Manchester City star Erling Haaland has signed a lucrative new deal with Nike.

The Norwegian has been nothing less than a goalscoring machine since his €60 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund last summer. In just 37 games across all competitions, the 22-year-old has racked up a ridiculous 42 goals, breaking several records in the process.

His 28 goals in the Premier League mean that he is on a perfect trajectory to better the league's single-season scoring record of 34, currently occupied by legendary strikers Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.

Despite his contract at Manchester City running until 2027, links to Real Madrid have been a constant, with the Norwegian being touted as one of Real's next Galacticos. Indeed, as FootballTransfers has exclusively reported, Manchester City have already identified a replacement for Haaland.

However, with him still being under contract at Manchester City for several years, there has been contract uncertainty of a different kind lately.

A new sponsorship deal

That uncertainty has been with regard to Haaland's boots. His contract with Nike, by whom he had been sponsored since the age of 14, expired in January 2022, and the goalscoring phenom has been without an official supplier since.

In that time frame, the Norwegian has been pictured sporting boots from Manchester City's supplier Puma as well as adidas, with whom Haaland has a personal connection through chief executive and family friend Bjorn Gulden.

Previously, Puma had reportedly offered him a contract believed to have been in the region of around €25m. Now, however, a new deal has been struck - with Nike.

Haaland has returned to his boyhood supplier, and he is set to earn at least €23m, which is what his entourage had valued him at, though an accurate figure is not yet known. It is an unsurprising development seeing as though he has been regularly wearing Nike boots in recent months.
