Drake loses over a HALF A MILLION pounds on Barcelona bet

Canadian rapper Drake placed an astronomical bet on both Arsenal and Barcelona winning their matches on Sunday.
Arsenal travelled away to Leeds in the Premier League, while Barcelona made the trip to Real Madrid to play in the Clasico.

And the outcome of these matches meant more to Drake than most as he placed a whopping bet worth £537,000 on the two teams.
Drake required both Arsenal and Barcelona to claim victory in order to win his bet.
He would have won a huge £2.5 million if both teams did indeed win.
It was certainly a big gamble from the 36-year-old.
Arsenal completed their side of the bargain as they defeated Leeds 1-0 at Elland Road.

But Barcelona fell to a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, meaning that Drake lost his best.
This should have come as no surprise as they have had a number of negative results in Europe in recent weeks.
This includes a 1-0 defeat to Inter, followed by a 3-3 draw at Camp Nou on Wednesday, which makes qualification for the Champions League last 16 very unlikely.
The Drake Curse
Once again we saw the realisation of the so-called ‘Drake Curse’, which has become something a social phenomenon in recent years and says that whenever Drake backs something to happen, the opposite takes place.
This has been particularly noteworthy in sport matches and events.
Drake hit the headlines earlier this week when it was revealed his OVO logo would appear on Barcelona shirts in El Clasico.
Barcelona players also wore Drake’s name on their shirts during the warm-up.
