Bukayo Saka has been told to leave Arsenal and join Manchester City if he is to reach his potential.

Saka played a key role for England on Monday as they came from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 with Germany in the National League, the young attacker involved in each of the three home goals to some extent.

The 21-year-old forward is valued at €65 million by FootballTransfers and has long been associated with Pep Guardiola’s side.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have as yet been unable to tie him to a new contract, though with his current deal up in 2024, they are still around 12 months from the situation becoming critical.

Former England international goalkeeper David James, though, says that Saka should give serious thought to joining the two-time defending Premier League champions.

“What's best for Bukayo? Well, if you want to be part of a revolution in a sense, then you should stay at Arsenal as they’re building something and they've not won the league for 18 years,” he told GGRecon.

“You're part of a revolution if you can get Arsenal to compete for the Premier League title, but if you want trophies instantly, then you’re almost guaranteed it if you go to Manchester City.

“I believe he'd be a wonderful addition for Manchester City. I've got a lot of Arsenal friends, so I believe he should move to Manchester City.”

Arteta on new Saka contract

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says that a new contract for Saka is virtually a formality, however.

“I am very confident that we as a club, Bukayo and his family and agent are all aligned. Now it’s about putting that on a piece of paper,” he said in August.

Saka has quickly developed into a key player for Arsenal, scoring 24 times and creating 33 goals in the first team. This term, he already has four assists in just seven Premier League games and is unsurprisingly considered a key player by Arteta.
