Jamie Vardy continues sensational form with Cremonese brace
Jamie Vardy continued his excellent form in Serie A with a brilliant double on Monday evening.
Vardy scored twice as Cremonese earned a shock 3-1 win at high-flying Bologna.
His first goal was a clinical one-on-one finish, while his second was a poachers effort as he pounced on a loose ball to round the goalkeeper.
Vardy's brace means he now has four goals in his last six games, all of them against top teams having also struck against Juventus and Atalanta.
Vardy move to Cremonese
Vardy completed a shock free transfer to Italian minnows Cremonese this summer.
Cremonese have started the season well, already picking up 17 points and having a seven point lead over the bottom three.
Vardy has a deal with Cremonese until June 2026 with the option of a further year if the club remain in Serie A.
The attacker had been searching for a new club after leaving Leicester at the end of last season following their relegation to the Championship.
He was linked with a host of clubs such as Brentford, West Ham United, Wrexham, Celtic and even Manchester United but he chose to join Cremonese.
Vardy already has shares in Serie A club Como.
Cremonese were promoted from Serie B and made a shock start to life in Serie A.
They stunned AC Milan 2-1 at San Siro on the opening day and have been performing well.
Now 38, Vardy has no intention of retiring after a legendary spell at Leicester.
The striker scored 200 goals during 13 years at Leicester, famously leading the team to a fairytale Premier League triumph in 2016.
He was capped 26 times by England, scoring seven goals.
