Rangers have rejected a bid worth €25.7 million for Youssef Chermiti, with the Ibrox hierarchy unwilling to sanction a sale unless they receive a mega offer before Transfer Deadline Day.
Chermiti, who became Rangers’ all-time record signing when he arrived at the club from Everton last summer, scored 15 goals in 41 games during his debut campaign in Glasgow, including two braces versus Old Firm rivals Celtic.

The Portuguese striker, 22, was the subject of an approach from Fenerbahce during the January transfer window, and fellow Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray lodged a €25.7m (£22m) bid over the weekend, as per a report from The Rangers Review.
If accepted, this would’ve made Chermiti the most expensive sale in Rangers' history, however the offer was immediately turned down by the Ibrox hierarchy, with the club’s stance confirmed by head coach Derek McInnes before their 2-1 loss to Hibernian on Sunday.
“I'm led to believe the club's valuation of the player hasn't been met,” McInnes told BBC Scotland when asked about Galatasaray's initial offer for Chermiti.
“So, from our point of view, like everything else, when you get clubs looking at your players, it's business as you were. It's no surprise that he's a player who's got a big tag on him and he's got high potential, but thankfully he's our player and that will continue to be the case.
“We're trying to build a team here at the minute and we're trying to still bring additions to the team that helps us add to the good players that we've got, including Youssef.
“So it's not something we would encourage at any point and, as I say, obviously news has broken today, but we're just trying to concentrate on the game today.”
Youssef Chermiti wants to stay at Rangers
Meanwhile, speaking during Rangers’ pre-season camp in Spain last month, Chermiti confirmed his desire to remain at the club for the foreseeable future, admitting: “I'm very happy here. I like Glasgow, I like the club and everyone likes me as well.
“I think everyone is just trying to help me with my development. It is not a distraction for me, to be honest I don't hear anything. I don’t hear any noise from outside the club. I leave that with my agent and my family.
“I'm just focused on this season and on Rangers. I feel very good in the city. Even my family is happy. 100 per cent, there is more to come from me. I think that's the target.
“I'm trying to get better every day. I think my target is, as I said in a few interviews before, I want to get into the national team [too]. That's my dream.”
