Erik ten Hag sack news: Man Utd fans demand return of Solskjaer

Manchester United fans on social media have been calling for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to return to the club as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

Current Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag hit a new low in a disastrous season on Monday evening as his team were thrashed 4-0 at Crystal Palace.

It was a performance and result that will now surely end all debate over whether Ten Hag should remain as Man Utd manager next season.

However, many fans believe that Ten Hag should be sacked immediately and a caretaker boss brought in for the final three Premier League games and the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

And a large section of United fans have been calling for the return of Solskajer.

A former playing legend, Solskjaer has been out of work since being sacked as Man Utd manager in November 2021.

He had managed the team from 2018 to 2021 with mixed results.

Ten Hag record at Man Utd

Ten Hag joined Man Utd in the summer of 2022 and enjoyed a decent first season as he took the club back into the Champions League, won the League Cup and reached the FA Cup final.

However, the 2023-24 campaign has been a total disaster for Ten Hag. United are in eighth place, have lost 13 of their 34 Premier League games and have a negative goal difference of -3.

They went out of the League Cup early but worst of all were humiliated in the Champions League group stages.

Ten Hag has fallen out with a host of players during his time at the club, most notably Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho, while there has been scrutiny over his reported bad relationship with Marcus Rashford.

The Dutchman is expected to be sacked at the end of the season.
